If you are into CRPGs the value here is off the charts. I've done two solo campaigns and a group run with some friends. One of my all time favorites, fantastic experience.

Larian's dark and cheeky humor is just so perfect in this game. It truly works wonders.

I sunk about 200+ hours into the Divinity series nearly a decade ago. Excited to play BG3 next week!

A masterpiece. Support these devs, they did it the right way - quality release on launch and no microtransactions. This is how it used to be and we allowed our expectations and overall gaming experience to be lowered substantially in recent years.

Even at full price this is an amazing game that is worth buying to support the studio. Larian Studios is one of the few developers out there that are still making games that match the quality and passion of the golden era of gaming in the late 90's and early 2000's, before all the bean counters and microtransactions came in and completely diluted the level of standard.

BG3 will be at the same spot of Witcher 3 in a few years. It's that good.

I know this is one of the best games in past few years but I’m still too cheap to pay this much [STEAM] Baldur's Gate 3 for $67.99 (15% off) - RedFlagDeals.com Forums (5). I’ll keep clearing my backlog and hopefully BG3 will be off 50-66% in a year or two.

That's what I'm saying! If it's not 60% or higher, it's not a deal. XD
Just an arbitrary number I chose.

How would this game be for someone who's never played an RPG? I've always been tempted to play, but don't know if it would be overwhelming.

It might be but at the same time, the player is taken by the hand and it's probably the greatest introduction to RPGs.

This is the whole reason there is a "casual" setting in these games now. It will still be hard enough for someone who is new to the genre.
