Our History
2003
EquiTrust began operating in the independent-insurance channel.
- Subsidiary of FBL Financial Group, West Des Moines, Iowa;
- FBL Financial Group is a regional carrier with dedicated sales force; EquiTrust expanded FBL's 15-state marketing reach with independent agents, and a national presence;
- Introduced first product: Certainty Annuity.
2004
Introduced three new index annuities: MarketPower Bonus Index, MarketValue Index, MarketSeven Index.
2006
Surpassed $5 billion in assets.
2009
Product portfolio was restructured for greater capital efficiency. Higher capital intensity products withdrawn; product portfolio more focused.
2011
Guggenheim Partners purchased EquiTrust from FBL Financial Group.
2012
Surpassed $10 Billion in assets.
2013
EquiTrust domestication moved to Illinois from Iowa.
2015
Magic Johnson Enterprisesbecomes controlling shareholder.
2016
Surpassed $17 Billion in assets. Receives Ward’s Top 50 Performing Insurance Companies recognition.
